Not posted for a while.

I have a new car!!! A BMW Z4 – an impulse purchase and I must put a picture up in the next day or so. Got the car on Friday morning from Barons BMW in Hindhead.

Golf worth reporting on too. Played Bill Talbot last years captain in the semi final of the Parker Cup yesterday afternoon and won 4 and 3. A much closer match than the prior games. I was 3 up after 5 and level after 8 holes and 1 up at the turn. Got to 2 up after 11 and held that until the 15th where a nice soft drive got me to the green to win the hole. I then went to pieces and could not hit a ball once the pressure was off. Played a few strokes under handicap and putted well. Bill had a good game too so a nice afternoon.

Last week played my new 4 ball / foresomes partner Brain Marquard. A nice chap from SA – ex Old Mutual – who lives in Dockenfield. He is 70 and has a good short game so we should do well.

The week before played in the 1st medal of the year with Paul Kelly and ? – can’t remember his name.

Work continues in Hove and is quite interesting.

Bridget’s birthday tomorrow and so should be nice to have the day off and spend with her. Planning to see my Granny (who is 102 tomorrow) and then go to Southampton – John Lewis and than maybe a pub lunch.

Had a nice meal this evening with the family at Bon East.

We had a good dinner with Nick at Timo’s restaurant in Kensington. Funny thing is Nick thought it was somewhere else he was booking. The food was good but expensive and if we had not asked for the set evening meal menu (available before 8pm) we would have paid full price. We had a nice bottle of red a Pinot Nero Colterrenzio “Classici” 2008.

We were all a bit tired as we did not get home until after 11.

Yesterday Bridget did lots of work in getting stuff sorted and we just need to paid a deposit on the holiday and pay for the flights.

Work is OK – spent yesterday in Epsom and today working from home.

Tonight is the Weydon school quiz night which should be quite fun.

Wednesday 9th March 2011

Up at just before 6 am. B gave me a lift to North Camp station for the 6.57 to Gatwick and then change to Hove. Annoyingly the Amex was declined and having phoned them it seems it was a fault at North Camp as Amex got no authorisation request from the station! Also found out a return is only £1 more than a single!

Met my new boss Nigel Bolley – seems OK! Also now have a full time pass!

Got lots of reading!

Train to London to meet up with Nick & family fine – takes about 15-20 mins to walk from Office to station.

Tuesday 8th March 2011

First day at L&G. Long journey – 100 miles round trip.

Nice bunch but not all together consistent as a team in what needs to be done.

Meeting Nick Eustance tomorrow in London @ Timo’s restaurant on Kensington High Street. Will be good to see him and talk about the trip to Kerela this Xmas.

Up early tomorrow to try getting the train to Hove via North Camp and Gatwick. We’ll see how well that goes.
