Michael Eric Philip Naylor

Michael was born on on the 13th June 1924 at The Chauntry, Bourne End, Buckinghamshire, England SL8 5QS

He attended St Piran’s School, Maidenhead and then Oundle School and Pembroke College Cambridge.

He joined the RAF as part of the RAF Volunteer Reserve – number 165913 – and was trained in Canada and returned to England and was based at Hamptead Norry in Berkshire.

He was killed in a crash in a Mosquito on 25th March 1945 at Hampstead Norris and is buried Plot H/1. Grave 175, Botley Cemetery, Botley, Oxfordshire, England.

Some items remain which were kept by his mother and father, handed down to his younger brother Peter and in turn to what would have been his great nephew, and who was named after him, Michael son of Peter.

These include a cigarette holder and case engraved with MEPN, 2 cap badges, his navigator, observer and Volunteer Reserve shoulder patches and his Air Training Corp badge.
